Hemorrhoids Home Treatment – Piles Treatment

Piles Treatment

If you think you have hemorrhoids and are looking for some home remedies; I am here to help.  However, I must say that if you think you have hemorrhoids it is important to get them professionally diagnosed by a licensed doctor.  That way you can ask him his professional advice and get a concrete diagnoses.  Often time the symptoms of hemorrhoids share the same symptoms as some more serious complications, such as anal and colon cancer, as well as, other life threatening diseases.  So you want a concrete diagnoses before trying to remedy it.

However, if you have hemorrhoids and are looking for home piles treatment options, I will give you some things that you might find helpful to alleviate some of the discomfort.

The first thing you should try to do is to strive for soft bowel movements.  Straining when having a bowel movement is one of the worst things you can do.  This not only is painful, but will more than likely make your existing hemorrhoids worse or cause new ones to pop up.  Eating a diet with a lot of fiber will help this situation out; also caffeine is another natural laxative; often time quickly drinking a can of caffeine heavy soda for breakfast will loosen the bowels up enough to have a easy bowel movement.

A warm bath is also at the top of the list on home treatment options, not only does a nice warm bath help with the pain; it also improves blood flow and can make the hemorrhoids reduce in size.

A dab of witch hazel around the anus for external hemorrhoids will help to alleviate some pain.  Apply the witch hazel with a cotton ball.  This works well with bleeding hemorrhoids because witch hazel causes the blood vessels to shrink and contract.

Avoid certain foods like, salt, spicy foods, beer, cola, and coffee.

Another option is to spread a little bit of petroleum jelly around and inside your anus; approximately ½ and inch up.  You can use a cotton swab or your finger to do this.

Keeping the area clean is another helpful solution to keeping the inflammation down as feces remaining around outside of the anus can irritate the hemorrhoids.  However, when keeping it clean it is important to do this gently.  Buy non-perfumed, non colored toilet paper as the other types can irritate sensitive areas.  Before you wipe, wet the toilet paper down and clean softly.  Another option is to use lotion treated Kleenexes to help keep the process as pain free as possible.

Piles in Pregnacy – Piles Treatment

Piles in Pregnancy – Piles Treatment

So you are pregnant, you feel fat, uncomfortable, maybe you are throwing up; you just feel that things couldn’t get any worse.  Since you are here on this website, I’m guessing things did get worse – a lot worse.

Piles are a miserable condition and one that many people suffer from.  It is very common for people to have piles.  In fact one study showed that 80% of adults will get piles one time in their life.  Piles during pregnancy are very common, they normally show up around the third trimester and for many women they can persist long after you deliver the baby.

You will likely find that there are a few different piles treatment options ranging from creams to surgery.  Most creams will only treat the symptoms, despite what the label might say; surgery is often a long-term solution that you may want to discuss with your doctor if things get bad enough.

Piles are a condition in which the veins around the outside of the anus and inside the rectum become swollen and inflamed.

During pregnancy four things happen that can result in piles; the first is that as your fetus is growing and is putting added pressure on the veins in the lower pelvic area.  Another reason is your body is going through many different hormonal changes which can cause you homorrhoidal vessels to enlarge.  The third is the severe pressure that is put on these vessels during childbirth.  The fourth is a result of the frequent constipation that is common during pregnancy.

Due to the fact that you are pregnant you are limited to natural methods of coping with the piles.  Fortunately, for piles the natural solutions are the ones that tend to work the best.  The first thing you should do to try to alleviate some pain is take frequent warm baths, this is effective to reduce the pain and get the blood circulating which helps reduce the size of the piles.

If pain is the issue, putting a cold compress on the affected area is a good solution for temporary relief.

Also important is keeping a diet high in fiber to reduce any chance of constipation.

A cold compress soaked in witch hazel, is a good solution to help the external piles.  This works well with bleeding hemorrhoids because witch hazel causes the blood vessels to shrink and contract.

I wish you the best of luck and hope you find some relief from the tips and information offered in this website.

Hemorrhoid Surgery

Piles Surgery – Piles Treatment

If you have not had your condition professionally diagnosed by a licensed doctor; I would highly recommend doing so.  I understand this is an embarrassing issue; but you can take heart that it is not uncommon; approximately 80% of adults will experience piles in their life.

The reason why it is so important to get this condition professionally diagnosed; is because the symptoms you are experiencing can also be symptoms of more serious conditions such as anal and colon cancer, as well as, some other life threatening diseases – the last thing you would want to do is misdiagnose your condition for something more serious.

If you are considering surgery and trying to learn more about it your different options, you must be dealing with quite a bit of discomfort.  Obviously surgery wasn’t your first choice of treatments; but it seems as though conventional over-the-counter medications have failed you.  This is not uncommon, as many people experience the same disappointment with such treatments.

There are two types of surgery options the first being a procedure called the hemorrhoidectomy.  During this procedure the surgeon will make cuts around the anus to cut away the Hemorrhoid.  This will typically be an out-patient surgery, to which you will receive anesthesia that will make you relaxed and numb, but you will generally still be conscious.  In some instances you will be given a general anesthesia that will put you asleep for the surgery.  This will have to be a determination your doctor makes after meeting with you and addressing the situation.

While this procedure has a good likely hood of taking the pain and bleeding away from the Hemorrhoid; the downside is, that the cuts are made in a very sensitive area of the body and recovery will be painful until the surgery heals.

The other is the procedure for prolapsed and Hemorrhoid (aka PPH)

PPH is a lesser invasive procedure to treat Hemorrhoid and prolapsed (which is a condition which the Hemorrhoid slip down out of the anal canal.  The goal of PPH is to use a tool similar to a stapler to reposition the Hemorrhoid and then cut off its blood supply.  By cutting off the Hemorrhoid’s blood supply, it is no longer able to stay inflated.  The procedure moves the Hemorrhoid higher up in the anus, where there are fewer nerve endings which will reduce the pain.

The downside to this is that even though it is less invasive and less painful; it might not prove to be as permanent of a solution as the hemorrhoidectomy.  However, the decision on what is best for you will have to be a determination that you and your doctor make after your exam.

Both surgeries are considered safe with common side effects may include; bleeding, difficultly urinating, pain, reaction to anesthesia, or infection.  Another problem that can arise is damage to the anal tissue which makes the anal sphincter unable to control the release of bowels and gas.

The general recovery can take anywhere from two weeks to six weeks to make a full recovery.

What Are Piles / Hemorrhoids?

If you’re suffering from Piles; odds are you already know what they are, as they are kind of hard to miss.  They are very painful, uncomfortable, and embarrassing; as I know this is an embarrassing subject to bring up I hope I can help provide some basic knowledge of these little nightmares.

However, I am sure that you are somewhat embarrassed of these Piles; you can take a little comfort in the fact that they are not uncommon.  One study showed that in North America approximately 80% of people will have Piles one time in their life.

Piles (or hemorrhoids), also known as piles are the result of inflamed veins around the opening of the anus, know as external Piles.  However, they can also be found inside the rectum, which is known as internal Piles.  One is not exclusive to the other; it is very possible to have Piles in both locations at once.

Internal Piles

When suffering from internal Piles, there are swollen veins inside the wall of the anus.  Often times they can be very painful, when they bulge out of the anus.

It is not uncommon to see mucus or a streak of blood after a bowl movement; however, blood in the stool can also be signs of other more serious complications like anal or colon cancer; so you should be sure to go to your doctor to get them analyzed.

External Piles

These Piles found on and around the opening of the anus can become large and swollen obtrusion; these large swollen veins can at times start to bleed; once the bleeding stops and begins to clot, it can make a very painful hard lump – known as a thrombosed.

The unfortunate fact is that, if they are left untreated, chances are the Piles will often times get worse; doctors at any level will advise immediate treatment for any Piles.

The good news is there are piles treatment options and preventative options for those who have them or are likely to get them.  When it comes to piles treatment options, many will find themselves trying many different over the counter creams and medications – while some of these do offer temporary relief – I have not found any to be a final solution.  I find many people very hopeless as they have tried everything topical solution they could find at the drug store and nothing seemed to help.

If you are feeling hopeless, you might want to talk to your doctor about surgery.  In some cases surgery is an option; however, this piles treatment can be costly and very painful – but it is often a fix to the problem.

What Causes Piles – Hemorrhoids?

Piles Treatment – Understanding What Causes Piles

Hemorrhoids, also known as piles, are a result of swollen and inflamed veins around the anus opening and wall of the rectum.  They external hemorrhoids tend to be very uncomfortable; and hard to live with.

There are medications out there such as creams and topical solutions; however, many use these treatments with little or no success.

If you are suffering from piles and are wondering what has caused them.  Maybe you know someone who has hemorrhoids and you see the pain they are going through and you want to make sure you never get them, so you are trying to find out what causes hemorrhoids; well below you will find the most likely reasons why one might get hemorrhoids.

As people age they become more prone to piles; there is not much you can do to prevent aging, except try to eat healthy and get exercise.  For the most part you will just have to keep your fingers crossed on this one; and hope you don’t get them

  • Chronic Diarrhea can cause piles.  If you experience diarrhea for extended periods of time, be sure to consult your doctor as to the best way to treat the diarrhea.
  • Chronic Constipation.  This is a definite cause of piles and if you find yourself constipated it is important to take some stool softening medication to get your bowels moving, opposed to forcing it out – which can definitely create problems.
  • Pregnancy – Piles are very common in pregnant women; and most have women have a hard time getting rid of the hemorrhoids after pregnancy.
  • Anal Intercourse – Just keep it a one way street and you should be fine.
  • Genetics – Much like getting old, there is not a whole lot you can do about this one; some people, just by their genetic makeup, are more prone to hemorrhoids.
  • Obesity – This can cause all kinds of problems and piles are just one of them.  It is important to eat right and exercise to prevent piles.

Unfortunately, once you get hemorrhoids it can be very difficult to get rid of them.  Many people spend their whole life battling this condition; spending lots of money on piles treatment options that just do not work .  Few are able to get rid of them using traditional methods and I find that many get discouraged by the poor results from all the over the counter treatments they get; and they give up and loose hope.  They spend their whole life being tortured by these little nightmares.

Piles Symptoms

If you’re suffering from Piles (otherwise known as Hemorrhoids); there are many symptoms you may be experiencing.  Generally there is nothing pleasant about having Piles, and I would urge you to visit your doctor if you think you have piles, especially because piles share some of the same symptoms as some more serious complications; such as anal or colon cancer.

Unfortunately piles are very common; one report showed that approximately 80% of adults will experience piles some time in their life.  The other bad news as even though there is medication out to treat piles; you will most likely find that little to none of it proves to be effective.

Piles are the result of inflamed veins around the opening of the anus and inside the rectum wall.  There are two different kinds of piles; one is known as internal piles and the other is known as external.  The difference is where they are located.  Also, one is not exclusive to the other; it is very possible to have both internal and external piles at once.

Some of the most common symptoms of piles are:

-       Bleeding during bowel movements, often times you will see streaks of bright red blood on the toilet paper after you wipe.

-       Itching of the anus

-       Extreme pain in the rectal and anus area.  You may find it very painful to have a bowel movement or clean the area.

-       Lumps or Swollen Veins popping out from the anal region

-       A painful lump near your anus

-       Anus Swelling

I understand that none of the symptoms are something most would like to make a public matter; but it is important, if you do think that you do have piles, make sure to have this situation professionally diagnosed by a doctor.  These could also be signs of cancer and other more serious complications and you would not want to misdiagnose piles for something more serious and potentially life threatening.

Even though this is an embarrassing subject it is one that should not be avoided, as very rarely do piles get better on their own without piles treatment.  Although none of these symptoms sound particularly fun; keep in mind they are only unbearable when they are at their worst and like I said; there are medications on the market that will help prevent flare ups.  However, it has been reported that these rarely provide a cure.

So I wish you the best of luck and hope you find some relief from the tips and information offered in this website.

Bleeding Piles & Hemorrhoids – Piles Treatment

Bleeding Hemorrhoids – Piles Treatment

Bleeding Piles

If you are like 80% of adults, there is a good chance you are suffering from hemorrhoids.  It is a staggering statistic and unfortunately, as you have probably found out, most medications out there provide little relief.  They are uncomfortable, embarrassing and something that most prefer not to talk about, so I hope you can find this article helpful and give you some helpful information on this topic, as well as, the best was to cope with this condition.

Piles are classified into different stages and there are internal and external Piles.  Unfortunately, sometimes these piles become so inflamed and irritated that they start to bleed.

I will say this, if you are having blood in your stool, and have not had it professionally diagnosed by a licensed doctor; it is important to go to the doctor immediately to have it looked at.  Blood in the stool is a symptom of piles, but it is also symptoms of much more serious complications, such as, anal and colon cancer and other life threatening illnesses.

Piles are a result of swollen and irritated veins around the anus and rectum.  Often times they become sore and during a hard bowel movement or during wiping they can become ruptured, resulting in bleeding.

Taking a bath in plain warm water four times a day for twenty minutes is an effective home remedy for bleeding hemorrhoids.  The warm water helps to improve the circulation to the area; the improved circulation then helps to take away toxins that contribute to inflammation and pain. Ibuprofen can also help to relieve the inflammation.

For internal hemorrhoids there are not any over the counter creams that you can use.  However there are some quite effective natural diet regiments that work quite well for getting rid of internal hemorrhoids, which I will talk about later in the article.

A dab of witch hazel around the anus for external hemorrhoids will help to alleviate some pain.  Apply the witch hazel with a cotton ball.  This works well with bleeding hemorrhoids because witch hazel causes the blood vessels to shrink and contract.

When it comes to piles many people are very startled when they notice them bleeding.  You can take ease that this is a very common event; however, piles rarely get better without treatment.  As I mentioned earlier in the article; most creams only work for external hemorrhoids and rarely provide much long term relief.

Piles Treatment

Unfortunately, Piles are very common and if you are suffering from them, you are not alone.  If you are suffering from piles you are most definitely considering your treatment options.  Piles are classified in different stages of severity; and depending on the severity the treatment options may vary.

If you have not had a professional doctor diagnose you with piles, it is important to visit your doctor prior to starting any type of piles treatment regimen.  Often times the symptoms of Piles can be the same as some other more serious complications; such as anal cancer, colon cancer, and other forms of life threatening illnesses.  That is why it is crucial to have a doctor diagnose you, so you do not misdiagnose your piles for something life threatening.

Depending on the severity of the piles there are different treatment options available.  Basically they consist of over-the-counter creams and topical jells; natural remedies, that I will get into later, and out-patient surgery.  Surgery would be something that you should address with your doctors.  Clinical options general will consist of three different procedures.

The first procedure being a rubber band ligation, for this procedure the doctor places a special rubber band around the base of the piles.  The band then cuts off circulations, causing the piles to shrink.

The next procedure is sclerotherapy, in this procedure the doctor injects a chemical solution into the blood vessel to shrink the piles.

The next procedure is known as infrared coagulation; here the doctor uses heat to shrink the piles tissue.

The final procedure, if all else fails is to have it surgically removed.  During this procedure you may be sedated; during this procedure you are often left with stitches that will dissolve on their own.

Like I said these procedures should be, in most cases, used when other remedies fail – but you should consult a licensed doctor and ask his opinion on the best way to treat your specific piles.

When it comes to other less invasive solutions most people will try over-the-counter creams and medications; however, most do not experience any significant improvement from these.  Sadly a lot of people spend years unsuccessfully battling the piles with these creams, that only target the symptoms.
